Classic Bordeaux blend. 76% Cab Sauv/18% Merlot/4% Malbec/1% Cabernet Franc/1% Petit Verdot. Silty and red fruit on the nose. Raspberry, leather, smoky notes. — 9 months ago
Consumed 30-Mar-2025. Dark purple red. Nose is abundant and yields blackberry and blueberry compote. Juicy medium full palate echoes the nose with ashy blackberry taking the lead. Juicy acidity. Medium minus tannins. Lingering, dark finish. An Old World feel makes this Washington GSM blend a great choice for hearty meals year round from the grill to the hearth. Rich meat and vegetable stews will shine. Drink now through 2031. — a year ago

I’d love to put this Seneca Lake Riesling in a blind tasting of German Auslese. Honeyed bright peach fruit on the nose. Terrific flavor intensity. Rich fruit and great balance in the mouth. The flavor density suggests greater residual sugar than it actually has. This is a special Riesling. Never heard of this winery before; a guest who visited the winery brought it to the party. — 7 months ago
Solid, structured Cab that is epitome of Washington. — 8 months ago
Smoky Red Mountain Syrah. Silty on the nose. Blackberry/raspberry, Acidic and astringent. Might be better with longer decanting. — 9 months ago

2023 vintage. Medium-medium heavy body. Old-school RRV swill that eschews the sweetness that crept into the area during the Williams-Selyem heyday/culty scores of the mid-80's to mid-90's. Big tea, earth, light mud, restrained cherry and plum. Structure. Fruit. Balance. No sizzle, all steak. Blind tasting this, you'd be hella pressed to call this as being from RRV. Tastes like it's got 8-10 years of age on it already as a new release. You could sock this away for an easy 15-spot if you're that disciplined, unorganized or behind on opening other stuff. One of the best new domestic pinots tasted in the last few years. P.S...tasted the 2023 MacIntyre (the one that gets all the scores/pub) right after this. It was nice. A new school nice at 9.3. I'll take this any day that ends in "y" instead. You can have my MacIntyre allocation. 3.25.26. — 4 days ago
