2017 vintage from Costco on 5/18/24 — 2 years ago
Expressive nose of dry cherries, goji, coffee beans and chocolate. Elegance, with many tannins, yet on the sweet side. Good length, good call. — 4 years ago
Costco buy. $30, WS 93. 2 hour decant. Medium bodied, smooth, ripe cherry on nose & palate, with menthol/eucalyptus kick on the finish. Very enjoyable. — 6 years ago
Rust showing on the rim... Crunchy red berry with hints of VA. Evergreen pine scent and a sultry black cherry round. Chi tea spice and ginger round out the nose. Fresh palate with juicy cherry transitions into mocha flavors. Finishes dry and with a delicious factor. With air this becomes more oxidative. Drink now. — 8 years ago
Light on the palate, acidic, silky tannins. Hints of gooseberry, herbs and leather — 3 months ago
Village Barbaresco (100% Nebbiolo) from various vineyards - including fruit from the prestigious Ovello, Montestefano and Rio Sordo crus. Perfumed and ethereal, quite fruit-forward on the nose with aromas of cherry, rose petal, pine needles and earthy notes and a whiff of tar. Juicy, slightly rustic on the palate with flavors of crunchy red fruit (cherry, cranberry), licorice. Quite dry, slightly harsh tannins (drinking this very young). High acidity. Pairs great with mushrooms — 5 years ago
Great for its youthfulness. Would benefit from another year or two in the cellar. — 5 months ago
Really a wonderful barbaresco riserva. Should have bought more than one bottle. Lots of sediment, so a decant is in order. Wonderfully deep nose, so velvety on the palate. Nice long finish. Just enough refreshing acid too - could have used a smidge more but still very nice. Great pairing with Allen brothers duroc pork chops. — 3 years ago
Drinking beautifully. Just what one should expect from a 2013 Barolo from Perno. Color, balance, fruit to tannan, freshness, sipping and strength to food. — 5 years ago
Opened beautifully. Nice finish. — 6 years ago
Very rich, needs to breathe a bit — 7 years ago
Since @Keith Crump opened a Rio Sordo I took out a Rabaja (thanks Keith for inspiring me 😁). It just kept me coming back for more. I adore those type of wines that suddenly make me forget about being "concious" what I'm drinking and make me realise it's just good! — 8 years ago
