Last had 2 years ago and this is again improved since then. Good reminder that especially these “named” Barolo or barbaresco can take the 12+ years even from a year that is perhaps not as talked about than others. Decanted 1.5 hours. Aromas leap from the glass. Excellent balance of fruit and earth with that delicious refreshing acid on the finish. Could go longer, tannins are definitely still there. There is a slight misalignment between the fruit and phenolic ripeness, also a mismatch between the oak and the terroir, but it is still an authentic, genuine Langhe Nebbiolo. Wide range of aromatic nuances and dynamic expression with authority. Less polished than Roagna and less subtle than Cascina delle Rose but those three are of similar mold.
