Semi-dry and very crushable - apple, peach, honey — 5 years ago
Medium sweet with the sugar well integrated with firm acidity and a lively presence of saline minerality. Vibrant with some petrol already evident on the nose. Green apple, linden blossom and a beam of lime keep the wine lively — 8 years ago
Fresh, balanced, pretty. — 8 years ago
How to really stump someone in a blind tasting: 1) store a bottle of '69 Weis Leiwener Laurentiuslay Auslese in a box with lots of geuze for ages. 2) allow the wild yeast to enter the bottle and do its thing. 3) wait until you loose 1/4 of the wine through the cork as the pressure builds. 4) open under the table, with a serious 'pop' (to confuse the tasters). 5) serve this miraculously delicious sour 'petillant' (like a cross between a Belgian sour and a very good feinherbst) in riesling glasses. 6) bathe in the glorious confusion that ensues. — 9 years ago

So clean and balanced. Not a complex wine, but just a perfect balance of only a mild sweetness followed by minerality and mild acidity. A Golden Mean in all its flavors. White fruit flavors. A paradigm of Mosel Riesling. Extraordinary QPR. — 4 years ago
The Urbans-Hof wines tend toward the broader, fleshier end of the Mosel spectrum, but they’re also rich and crowd pleasing. Lots of apricot and white peach. — 7 years ago
Quite fragrant of stone fruit. The taste however started with quite a bit of seeetness than followed with an intense l min flavor mixed with peaches ... peachy lemons is the best way I can describe it. A little too sweet for my taste, but quite a surprising mix of flavors that I found it quite enjoyable.

Wow! Big, rich, some petrol, lots of fruit, glycerin with a long finish. Impressive! — 8 years ago
So delicious. — 9 years ago
After only ten years, this one had lost some of its zing; it was a little earthy, but still full of acidity. Paired it with cherry almond cheesecake, and it didn’t have the upfront burst of sweetness to stand up properly. — 2 years ago
Good off-dry Riesling, with an excellent crisp and acidic finish, nice mineralogy, but a flat sweet attack. Very good but not complex. Still fresh and 11 years, but there is nothing to gain by further aging. — 4 years ago
Easy drinking — 7 years ago
Slight petrol with lots of beautiful acidity. Pineapple, light honey, lavender — 8 years ago
