Opened for my 80th birthday. Following the delicious dinner and wines, we needed a bottle of port with the cake and other sweets. Mature but so fresh for its age, this port did not disappoint, it was yummy. And by the end of the evening, no wine and no port leftovers, ha, ha. — 6 months ago

Agree with @Chris MacLean : peppery. I’ve not had many wines like this, and loved the expansion of my experience. — 4 years ago

Crisp, minerals, lemon verbena. — 18 days ago
[8-hour decant] Ripe, rich, very youthful still, with a noticeable tannic backbone, but also shows a sweet palate (think Graham’s/Fonseca, though the Symington family owns Graham’s, Dow’s, Warre’s and Cockburn’s, among others??), this should easily evolve/improve another 10-20 years, very long finish, outstanding vintage Porto, super long finish!! — 6 months ago

Volcanic? Definitely needs food. Lots of acid and minerals. — 4 years ago
Pale gold, dry, mineral. Hints of citrus and white peach. Family owned, managed with time honored tradition. Another Oliver McCrumb selection that is perfect with any seafood pairing or just chilling with a special person on the front porch. — 6 years ago

Light, fragrant, delicious! (Ischia) — 2 years ago
Really nice bang for the buck. First time trying a Piedirosso grape, and it was very pleasant, easy drinking. Could pair with both low and high falutin cuisines. — 6 years ago
I’m not really sure where the 8.8 ratings for this are coming from - maybe a different vintage - but this wine is fantastic. Great aromas of tropical fruits of all things on the nose, along with melon and maybe a hint of candied lemon. Beautiful mouthfeel with a rich, enveloping flavor profile. Definitely a warmer climate Italian white (from Campagna, so obviously I guess), the wine is impeccably balanced through a lingering finish. Another amazing QPR wine from the folks at Le Volpe e l’uva in Firenze! — 7 years ago
