Leather and smoke on the tongue, aromas of green pepper. Nicely balanced and not too boozy or over oaked. Great with steak. — 9 years ago

plenty of depth in the rosé pigment with a mixture of intense red fruits (strawberry, pomegranate, cranberry, sour cherry) supplemented with a prominent herbal bouquet — 3 years ago
A touch barnyard on the nose,
Heavier bodied with some great classic SA characteristics, green pepper, garden stalk, cocoa. Bitter acidity, tiny tannins. I love everything about this wine, except the wax encapsulation. I find this closure method rather short sighted, as no sommelier in the world wants to struggle with a wax dipped cork closure during service. Certainly no beverage manager would allow this on the list. — 5 years ago
This had a lot going on and is still in its infancy: stewed prunes, mocha, soil, mushroom, blackberry jam, spice and whiff of camphor. Very tightly wound, rigid tannins - rather unyielding at this point. Felt the ABV on mid palate thru finish which was not cohesive at this time. Need to revisit in 5-7 yrs — 7 years ago
