Delicious. Everything a Rheingau Riesling should be. Mineralogy, petroleum, quince, ruby grapefruit, slight wild honey. For $16, a steal! Can only imagine what it would taste like with more age.... — 9 years ago

2015 is apparently the season for German rosés chez moi. Is this a function of having unceremoniously quit my job selling French wines? Perhaps. Or perhaps they are just extra extra good this year, perhaps both. Freiherr Spätburgunder tastes like pure watermelon juice. 100% ideal for 4 pm on a Wednesday, or any other time for that matter. 💕💕💕raise the steins to @Amanda Linn & @Michael Newsome for bring this my way. Simple, pretty little bottle of earthy mushrooms, red apple skin, tart cherries, and dried cranberries. Light bodied, flirtatious, and raw.

Holy Sh&t! One is always nervous when they open a bottle that is 50 years old. I knew provenance and storage was pristine. The color was spot on. The nose is a symphony of fruit. The palate is as if one was drinking marmalade that provides a sensation of sweet and sour notes. Opulent but pure velvet in the mouth providing an endless finish. Perhaps what was most astounding was the freshness. This wine is immortal! — 4 days ago
