Lovely mineral Riesling. Lime, chalk and whetstone. — 6 years ago
Incredibly smooth with lots of wild berries, a bit of a whetstone and a whisper of herbs — 7 years ago
Refined silky.....no.... abstract, cunning and wildly spicy. It is everything I expect from extreme farming on the Sonoma coast. I bought this at release and is all that I imagined. — 9 years ago
Wow, just got this Pinot from Whetstone. This is seriously good. Nose is earthy and with a big, dense fruit rush. Legs are long, but you don't get that true alcohol taste. My Riedel Som Pinot glass is brimming with a dark, almost eggplant color...every swirl releases a wonderful aroma. Just beautiful. — 9 years ago
v22. Wow this is good!! Grapefruit and whetstone nose. Full, round grapefruit and lime fruit and finish. Clean, round, tart, mineral finish, fantastic! — 3 years ago
A nose of, well, Pinot! No mistaking this red fruit - raspberry, strawberry - and rose petals. The palate has a touch of darker fruit up front but then lavender, cinnamon and strawberry rhubarb. The finish is medium length. This goes down (a little) easy. — 7 years ago
apple blossom, pear, honeydew, whetstone, honey, biscuit, lemon zest.
round and viscous gives way to lingering acidity. this is fully certified Biodynamic so it will precipitate tartrates!!! — 8 years ago
Golden straw, low forming tears
Nose: green pear, rubber, pine, yellow flowers, wet stone
Palate: off-dry, pineapple, whetstone, chalk, full body, orange flower honey — 9 years ago
This is about as good as it gets for a Rose. It’s not the cheapest, but I’ve drank a few of these already and it’s hard to keep it in the bottle. Amazingly good on a warm day. So refreshing. The finish is unlike most other roses in the market - smooth and not acidic. @Whetstone Wine Cellars great stuff! — 6 years ago
Thin, high alcohol. Really good, almost like a sauv blanc. — 7 years ago

My first viognier with some age on it. Major coconut cream pie, with other stone fruits as supporting cast. Still noticeably high alcohol, but maybe because I usually drink fairly low alcohol whites. Interesting and tasty wine. — 8 years ago

Ellen Clifford

Exclusively from their vineyards in the northern part of Vinho Verde, Monção and Melgaço. I’ve been there! That’s where I accidentally got up two hours early cause my clock switched to Spain time and I thought that meant I'dn need to get up an hour early. Contacto has a little more skin contact than average, turning up with a slight texture and friendly bitter bite. On the nose, it’s fresh lemon zest, wet stone and whetstone, with a bit of white flower. The palate is utterly thirst-quenching, veering into dried apricot territory and a bit of (as I said above) fun bitterness countering the fruit. It all wraps up with a sluice of salinity. Fun, fun, fun! — 2 years ago
