1979 vintage. Still decent fill. Fully saturated cork a bit of a mess even with a Durand but extracted most of it in one go. Decanted with a bit of mostly powdery sed. Aged Burgundy color. Tasted 45 minutes after decanting. Light body. Somewhat brickish with cherry pit and earth. Approx 10-12 years past the top of the bell curve. 05.01.25. — 5 days ago
2021 vintage. Made by some guy by the name of Luc Morlet. Bigg, dark, dense fruit with substantial mid-palate and appropriate tannins on the finish. Fairly smooth ride without speed bumps throughout. 04.27.25. — 9 days ago
2022 vintage. Trader Joe's $8.99 USD special. Slightly less body and slightly more cherry/berry than the 2021 version (8.9) but still worth tackling on a Wednesday night to avoid popping 2019 Barolo. 05.05.25. — 2 days ago
2023 vintage. Decanted and tasted after an hour. Medium-heavy body. Smooth and plummy with a hint of spice on the finish. Drinking beautifully currently but could age for a spell without worries. 05.02.25. — 4 days ago
2019 vintage. Light-medium/medium body. Surprisingly approachable for a 2019 Barolo. Big spice box finish at $35.10 USD resto cost. Feel like this will add a modicum of body in the next year or two. Always nice to find substantial Barolo under $45. Picked up a case. 04.30.25. — 6 days ago
2019 vintage. Tasted after 2 hours open. Medium body. Big lanolin and prominent acidity with some pineapple and guava notes open for business. Lemon curd rolling through like it owns the place (perhaps it do). Easy 7-8 years Smokey Robinson cruising together based on remaining acidity. Approx .5-1 year away from the top of the bell curve. 04.26.25. — 10 days ago
2021 vintage. 14.1% ABV and 619 cases made. Medium-medium/heavy body. Chilled down and traced as it warmed up. Immediate spearmint nose off the starboard bow along with currant and Fudgsicle. These all dropped in and acted out in the flavor profile with ripe plum and some dark chocolate notes. Pretty close to a PNP but decant or give an hour after opening if possible. The chill down was huge and found this effort with ample but integrated (already!!) tannins. About as close to a 9.4 as it could get. In 6 months? Very likely. Super delicious and affordable for great Napa cab. 05.02.25. — 4 days ago

2013 vintage. Medium-medium heavy body. Sage and anise on the nose. In that perfect spot between youth and maturity where the spring is partially unwound, yet still measurably coiled. Dropped the baby fat and aggressive fruit overtures but toned. Ain't no rush to crush. What I would do to roll through a vertical tasting of Araujo Eisele Vineyard Syrah might end up on the police blotter. There are more demonstrative Syrahs in California such as SQN, Saxum and Kongsgaard (and they are all top-notch phenomenal in their own way) but this deserves to be in the conversation amongst the best the region has to offer. 05.05.25. — 21 hours ago
