Charles Shaw, wow they still sell this?! Aroma is fruit leather and candy. Flavors are awful. Thin. Bland. Boring. Too much vanilla and toffee to balance the cherry syrup. This is not very interesting and it leans in heavy on CA red wine style. Aka Apothic and such. All fruit and oak, no backup plan. — 5 days ago

Fancy bottle. This was a gift from my friend given for me to try as a long aged wine she loved. Still has a dark color 11 years on. Aromas are perfumed and musky. Has a bit of berry. Bit of fancy soap or shampoo. Wet stone. Flavors are full and ripe. Juicy couture. Plenty of flinty and soil to go with the deep caisis and olive. This is balanced yet big. A Napa gem for sure. Aged and in a magnum. What a fancy bottle. Joy to try this. Hint of rust red on the edge of the color. Nose is cherry cordial and herbs. Sage, marjoram, fresh wood. Flavors are lovely. Still has zip. Herbal. Lush. Complex. This is lovely aged Syrah. Has a bit of mystery and is nicely aged. — 3 days ago

Boring label. Very light color. Thin. Simple. Not very complex. Has a slightly gamey side. Hint of Grenache, but without the bite nor tartness. Meh. Think this was stripped of its good parts in the name of cheapness. And $9 for Trader Joe’s Nebbiolo is hella cheap. Too cheap maybe. — 6 days ago

Crianza. Has a cherry and berry jam nose. Hint of char. Flavors are good with plenty of berry sauce. (Blackberry and currant). Tiny bit bittersweet to end it. This is a nice example of a good Crianza from Rioja. Tempranillo represent. — 6 days ago
