The fancy version of their Cab Sauv. It was $8 at Gross Out. As compared to $55 at the winery. Dark maroon color. Ain’t no seeing through this baby. Nose has a hint of horse and tobacco under the very berry cobbler front. Plenty of barrel smelling through. Flavors are hearty, heavy and bombastic. Cedar shake on the grill, vanilla bourbon crème brûlée. Berry sauce. Blackberry and cherry pie filling. This might benefit from aging. Soften and lose the extra oak toffee side. It’s a 15.2% ABV wine. Big Boy. Bomba de Fruta. Etc. It’s not overwhelming, but close. I’d choose the regular Cab from Bally Keal for now and try this one in 7-10 years. Maybe it’ll mellow with time and age.
