Bérêche & Fils
Brut Réserve Champagne Blend
Montagne de Reims, Champagne, France

Enjoying this knowing my Cornhuskers already punched their ticket to their first ever Sweet 16 last night in one of the games of the tournament so far.
At this point, it’s a “pick’em” between the Bérêche Brut Réserve and Caillez-Lemaire’s “Éclats” for the title of, “Kline Fam house Champagne”. They just delivery in the way I want/trust/expect and can afford. This is the November 2025 disgorgement. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The Brut Réserve pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of apple, pineapple, raspberry, lemon curd, brioche, marzipan, and a mix of chalk and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and laden with minerals. So easy to love. Drink now but you can hold for many years if you want as well.

Well hello again, old friend. The Bérêche Brut Réserve pours a golden color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, macerated strawberries, apple crisp, peach pie, brioche, Marcona almonds, even some mushrooms (!!) and yet so, so fresh! The finish is dry and long with minerals for dayz. Racy acid. Bangin’. Drink now or through 2029. Disgorged 7/2019

When you see Bérêche on the list, you feel like you entered a cheat code and this bottle, disgorged 11/2021, underscores yet again the incredible value presented by the “Brut Réserve”. It’s a beautiful golden color in the glass with persistent mousse and lovely weight and viscosity in the palate. This is so rich with an abundance of fruit and yet so balanced with remarkable acidity. It’s a perfect aperitif but would play an excellent partner to any meal as well. These wines are truly special and becoming more and more elusive. I’m taking advantage while I can.

Popped and poured; no formal notes. A very pretty straw color with a persistent mousse. Lemon meringue, raspberries, almond croissant, and pink flowers. Powerful. The finish is rich and long. Particularly lovely with a little air and some food. These wines from Bérêche…wow. Disgorged 7/2019.

Pale gold; medium intensity aromas of pink grapefruit, white peach, lemon pith, lime zest, tangerine, white pepper, subtle autolytic notes of brioche; dry, high acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity flavors of grapefruit, underripe peach, citrus pith, subtle white pepper and biscuit; flavors not very concentrated; good

An all-time fave Champagne. Can you believe they still hand-disgorge+recork?! Fab to get these in 375ml.

Few better ways to ring in the weekend than with #champagne. Bereche's winning combo of nutty richness plus currents of bright acidity and stoney minerality = stalwart happy maker.
