Château de Fieuzal
Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend
Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Bordeaux, France2014 vintage. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc. Stephen Carrier opted for very gentle extractions for this vintage, looking for a balance, maybe sacrificing a bit of power to preserve the fruit. It seems to have been a wise decision, this 2014 is ready to go, fully mature, with soft tannins balancing the fruit and spices. Very good length also. A great Fieuzal to drink now. Interestingly, it reminds me somehow of Château Musar. Abv. 13,5%.

Vintage 2014 | This Pessac Leognan delivers. Ten years old the colour is brownish. In smell lovely complexity: spices, liquorice, flint, warmth. Impressions of plums and tobacco. Surprising velvety taste, clearly a point! | paired with Cantonese beef and mango.

Sep 8th, 2024Somewhat muted aromas of strawberry leaf, smoked capsicum, blackberry, plum, briar, pepperberry and pencil shavings. Chewy tannins, soft acid and solid finish. Nice wine
