Mid crimson with a tawny rim showing its age. Just as impressive as the 2000 vintage which tends to get the accolades. This blend is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc. Aromatics of an old flower arrangement that had dried off with mature black fruits and cedar. My last bottle at 24 years of age but many say this could carry on until the mid 2030s. A classic Bordeaux living up to its “Super Second” standing.

Tart red fruit & tons of secondary - soy, leather, cigar box & dry earth. Beautiful!

Just a baby but opened up after 2 hours. Another decade should do.

Has finally entered a the period to enjoy with patience rewarded. A nice nose of earth, dark berries, and florals. Nice long finish with a bit of plum coming through. An hour decant to the benefit of the wine.

Wonderful wine that opened up nicely after an hour in the decanter. Great start to an evening with colleagues and just the right choice before we got to the steak where some of the other wines shined a lot more
