Saint-Estèphe Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

Medium to dark Ruby in colour. Red and black fruits, cassis, some sweatiness on the nose, cedar, sage and a touch of pipe tobacco. Terrific fruit considering that 2007 was a lesser vintage ie. 6/10. 64% Cabernet, 30% Merlot (quite high for the left bank), 5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. In summary a good 2nd Growth for the vintage. One of the 1001 wines.

2007 - Young, but showing excellent secondary characteristics and beautiful acid

Medium deep ruby , garnet rim . Lighter cooler fruits , touch of spicy cassis , dry spices , touch of coffee . Lighter, redder fruits on the palate, cranberry and redcurrant with some cassis , quite light and small boned , grafite and tobacco notes . Good acidity , with lighter but still gritty tannins . Ok length . This is quite light but enjoyable now and over the next 5-8 years

Dark ruby, high tannins, liquorice and cedar notes. Light bodied, such a joy to drink!

Felt a little tight and never really opened up even after decanting several hours. Hard to judge yet.

Should have decanted two hours before. Last sip delicious, as always.

Slight barnyard, leather, cherry, high tannin, good acidity

Nice full body - a bit dry - waiting to see how it opens
