I taste a lot of Napa Cabernet, but I don’t *drink* a lot of Napa Cabernet. But when I do I make sure it’s the good stuff, and it don’t get much better than @corisonwinery. Earth, lavender and black currant aromas give way to fantastically juicy and elegant black cherry, tobacco leaf, dried herbs and flowers, and a touch of pencil lead. Gorgeously balanced, with fine-grained, restrained tannins. Delicious now, but amazing in another 10 years. I just couldn’t wait that long.

Hello from bitter cold MN. Woke up this morning to -23 degree temps and it was garbage day…. 🥶
Continuing my month of drinking 2016 wines. Almost opened Pape Clement tonight. Thoughts on if that’s too soon anyone? Smash or pass?
This is drinking very well. Has that Corison thing with great tension of fruit and acidity. Mouthwatering.

What an amazing gift from @Paul K! Such finesse—this wine is elegant, balanced, and pretty. Begs for food, and I suspect has a broader pairing profile than other CS. The only criticism I can make, if it is even a criticism, is that this is too balanced such that’s hard to remember one distinguishing characteristic. I think this is what wine strives to be—part of something, but t not the focus. Thanks, @Paul K.

N: Plums and tobacco, some cedar.Liquorice, deep.
P: some big cherries, but black, nice balance of wood and acidity. Very nicely crafted. Some dirt, as it airs, you almost get pomegranates. It’s lovely and very easy to drink.
