2012 drinking in 2025. Still has a few years in it. Superbly reliable vineyard, with a great history of great wines. Cherries, blackberry, earthy notes and some light oak. Similar in the mouth though a bit thinner than I would have imagined. Really superb classic rioja bought in 2019 at a great price in the UK

A blend of 85 % Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5 % Mazuelo, this Rioja is dominated by dark fruit with prominent vanilla, purple bouquet and spice notes on the nose. Full bodied with med plus tannin; great acidity with hint of gaminess and smokiness. What a solid Rioja. Drinkable now, could age for another decade.

Was expecting more for an 8 year old gran reserva. Flavorful, don’t get me wrong, but lacks a little depth and the fruit is kind of muted and tannins and a bit flat.
