Pessimist Paso Robles Red Blend

Better than the vintages past. This year is very heavy on pepper and spice, finishing strong with dark fruit notes. Wonderfully paired with lighter, sharp firm cheese or chocolates

Dark fruits. Notes of plum, prunes.

Blackberry, cassis, and forest floor. Rich and a touch earthy.

Kitchen sink blend, well made but unremarkable. Not a big fan of Paso fruit…

7/2023. Goo week night blend. Medium bodied and nice on the palate.

Nice blend. Very jammy noise. Very fragrant. Deep color and great legs. Strong tannins. Great value

Full Body Very Smooth.

Not bad for the price, but not super well integrated. Decent dark fruit and pepper from the Syrah.

So, I got this wine and somehow I was already disappointed - but the label and name really caught my attention - mostly because I don't like Californian wines. Nothing against them... Just personal preferences.

I opened this one, read "a pessimist is never disappointed" in the back and I was surprised. Very balanced wine. From the smell to the taste. Dark fruits on smell, low alcohol, easy to drink. Not remarkable, but at the same time very well structured. A little of wood, maybe. Very easy to drink.
