2024 vintage. Castel owns 3 Muscadet estates, and Clos des Orfeuilles is their flagship ( the others being Château de l'Hyvernière and Château de la Botinière), and also the smallest of the 3 estates (18,5 hectares, organically farmed). Given the e diverse soil types, all parcels are vinified separately, and blended later. There are a lot of exciting wines coming from Muscadet these days, and there is a lot to say for them, in a period where many consumers are looking for low alcohol wines. With only 11% abv., the Clos d'Orfeuilles 2024 is a gorgeous, crisp and mineral Muscadet with intensity and saline length. Moreover it represents incredible value for money. Hard to resist now, but should also age well.
