Stony minerality, licorice, dried cranberry and plump ripe cherry.. Round and smooth, awesome as ever. Love aglianico.

Donnachiara Taurasi 2020
Taurasi DOCG, Campania, Italy

A distinguished red crafted from 100% Aglianico, hand-harvested at peak ripeness. The grapes undergo a 15-day maceration on the skins, followed by malolactic fermentation in French barriques. The wine then matures 12 months in barrique before an additional 24 months of bottle ageing prior to release.

Aromatics: Deep and intense, with layers of blackberry, plum, and cherry intertwined with notes of cacao and roasted coffee.

Palate: Bone-dry and full-bodied, framed by firm tannins. Warm, dry, and soft on entry, evolving into an elegant, well-structured mid-palate with notable persistence. Built for long-term cellaring yet already showing remarkable character.

Pairing: Outstanding with pasta in rich, full-bodied sauces, grilled steak, game meats, and long-aged cheeses.

A la salute! 🍷

100% aglianico. Like a decadent blackberry and chocolate dessert but not too sweet, just indulgent and velvety.

A perfect wine. Great expression of a great grape and great style. Earthy, leather and licorice notes. Perfect with red meats

2008 vintage. Stunning expression of aglianico. Easy to see why they call this Barolo of the south. Spice, savory, beautiful integration of oak with a ridiculously long complex finish. Not cheap but the quality makes you forget the price.
