Felton Road
Bannockburn Pinot Noir

Rich and mouth filling in the luscious Felton Road style. Only 20% whole bunch letting the quality of the ripe fruit speak. Intense red and black fruits - raspberry to the fore. This is just a “village “ wine in comparison to their illustrious Block 3 and Block 5 but it more than holds its own. Impossible not to enjoy this wine.

Aromatic notes of red fruits and red florals, dried herbs and whole bunch influences. Not as typically Otago as I was expecting - more restrained and less full bodied as you normally expect from this part of the world. I had written previously on Otago as being a “Shiraz drinkers Pinot” but this certainly wasn’t. The following day still those red cherry aromatics and a little pepper. Not overly complex, a little young, but very pleasant. Next in a year or so.

This is the third bottle each two years apart and this opened very nicely after about an hour or so
I’ve increasingly liked this wine although given it the same rating
It’s well structured aromatic and just an all round good expression of well made Central Otago Pinot
Probably open the next three each with a year or less further age

Nuanced and subtle, more burgundy style than most bolder Central Otago Pinots second of six bought, previous opened Christmas 2021
It will develop further, I also have some 2019 Block 5 and Calvert which I will wait longer to open

Just an average pinot noir. Nothing outstanding about it, but it's not bad either. It'd be a safe choice for large gatherings.
