On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, herbal notes, black currant, baking spice, chocolate, pencil shavings, green bell pepper and dark earth.
On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, violet, green bell pepper, mocha, black pepper, pencil shavings, and earth.
This is medium to full bodied with a smooth plush mouthfeel medium+ to high acidity and medium+ fine grippy tannins that seamlessly moves to a long red & black fruit pencil lead finish. Wow, this is good! I'm not the Napa connoisseur, but I've had a couple vintages of Freemark. This is definitely the best. Upon opening the nose is generous with blackberries and a creamy pastry aroma. Flavors of currant, blueberry, graphite, vanilla bean. Silky tannins and a lingering finish. I think a year in the basement helped this. Definitely could use more bottle age.

Wow, this is good! I'm not the Napa connoisseur, but I've had a couple vintages of Freemark. This is definitely the best.
