Another Greek red impressing me. Not as fulsome as the Naoussa I’ve reviewed here, but also Nebbiolo adjacent in a good way. Dark red cherry notes, lavender flowers, bay leaf which could be off putting to some (but not out of balance). For about 20$ I likey, but wasn’t crazy for.

Mint and sea salt on the nose. Bright red fruit on the front of the tongue. But the fruit is immediately overwhelmed by an intense minerality. The tannic structure is too light to balance all the bitter mineral notes. A watery bitter wine with a long bitter finish.
I’ll recork this bottle and let it sit overnight. Let’s see if it opens up a bit.
it became insipid and sour on the following day. I can see why the ancient Greeks cut their wine with water.
At some point my 8.4 rating got pushed up to 9.9. I don’t know if this was user error on my part, but I corrected it.
