Another great value from Sicily ($15). Cerasuolo di Vittoria which literally translates to cherry from Vittoria and is a DOCG required blend of Nero di Avola (50-70%) and the amazing Frappato. Usually a brighter similarity to an actual red cherry, this version is a deeper expression of sappy dark red bing cherry, black raspberry with juicy plum, some licorice spice and a cut of volcanic minerality.

Served with a wonderful polenta, turkey, and glazed cranberries, the both bitter and acidic characteristics were softened. Not a wine by itself. I would wait 3-5 years before trying again.
