Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett Riesling

Juicy acidity and sweeter than a typical Kabinett... intense aromas of ripe apricot and white peach, confirmed on the palate along with saline and melon

Cheesy fermentative overtones give way to a site-typical amalgam of fresh apple garlanded in honeysuckle and heliotrope. This is another of those Prüm Kabinetts that is watery in a positive sense of that word, combining watercolor-like transparency and wash of flavor with delicacy and refreshment. As with the corresponding Graacher, the finishing sense of wet stone and floral perfume is striking, and here a mouthwatering hint of salinity adds significantly to the appeal. One of our favorite reislings

Way too young. In my opinion, I really would hate to give this one a numerical rating because this one is locked up tight. Very soft and viscous, mouthcoating wine. Was showing a fair amount of wildflowers and honeydew and honeysuckle. Under-ripe peach and pears. I can definitely see the peach and pear notes coming more to the front. The finish kind of dies abruptly. A little bit out of balance, but I just attribute this to use and feel this one has 3+ decades to figure itself out.
