The vintage that never sleeps. Always so open and giving, 2017 is Grands Ech is superb even in its youth, with scintillating intensity and richness, exceptional detail and focus and a long saline-mineral inflicted finale. Stunning vintage for this wine, one of my favorite bottlings from Drouhin, and surely to be even more impressive with additional time in bottle. — 6 days ago
Initially quite reduced and aromatically closed but eventually opens up to reveal its Vosne perfume. The palate is impeccable though, with excellent density and richness, succulent fruit and acids and a long saline-mineral finish. — 17 days ago
Fantastic. Still incredibly youthful, 2015 Chaumées is showing fabulously, rich, vibrant and textural with classic morey matchstick-lemon cream aromatics, a layered palate with racy acids and excellent length. Love these wines. — 3 days ago
There’s Aligote and then there’s Aligote—this is the latter. A serious white burgundy to be called blind, love the balance, rich aromatics and racy citrusy acids. Went perfectly with the Catalina spiny lobster. — 6 days ago
One of the most singular Champagne’s in the biz. Great to have with some age. — 6 days ago
The top bottling from JMS, love the natural style. Terrific with the squab. — 6 days ago
Only 1400 bottles, grapes from cult grower Aurelien Lurquin. — 6 days ago
Served blind, called ‘96 Paulliac! It’s a left bank classic in 1996, structured, earthy and peppery with an elegant palate and fine grained tannins. Went perfectly with aged Texas Antelope! — 22 days ago

A rare experience for me of Morey red, it’s perfumed, elegant and satiny. Delicious already in its youth and perfect with the Guinea Hen! — 3 days ago
