La Stoppa
Trebbiolo Rosso Barbera Bonarda
Emilia-Romagna, Italy
Barbera & Bonarda blend from an Emilia Romagno maker. I love this style- gave a good 45+ min decant. Imagine the Bonarda offsets the Barbera fruitiness. Keeps a taut line btw vegetal acidity & that earthy fruitiness. Natural maker of some serious orange wines. 13% alcohol. Didn’t hurt that we drank at sunset, on the Hudson River at home.

Love this wine . So vibrant . After an hour open this is just beautiful and will be for the next week or two. Raspberry crunch , perfume , long and very fresh

Aroma is wet hay which becomes part of the finish as the wine opens up. Firmly positioned medium body, would be good to drink by itself but also robust enough to pair with meals.

Feb 6th, 2022Natural organic wine, purchased from Tofino. Wild, yeasty with dark berry notes. Tannic and dry, but with refreshing acidity.
