Focus on brambly fruit. Hint of earthiness. Integrated tannin. Good. Would be interested to see where this goes with a few years.

Oct 18th, 2013Loved it. American oak wasn’t overpowering but added a very inviting element. Great start to finish.

Jul 28th, 2020Blackberry and old forest in the nose, blackberry, wood and clove in the palate. Needs cheese or beef. Even after 11 years it is still highly tannic

WOW I love this wine!!!!! I know what your thinking ... You just love California Cabs!. Well, I do and this one is AMAZING! The cork is perfectly preserved and easily removed from the bottle. The color is deep purple with intense darkness. It is as opaque as any I have ever had. The legs are thick and slow. The bouquet is that of violets blooming in the morning sun and ripe grapes hanging off the vine in an old vineyard. The initial palate is blackberry pie and buttered toast. The finish is long and filled with with a splash of pepper and spice quickly followed with hints of coffee and cream. There is even a hit of milk chocolate. There is no bitter sharpness to the finish. Absolute PERFECTION.
