Pierre Gimonnet & Fils
Cuis 1er Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay
Champagne, France

Six vintages blended…70% 2021 as the base…30% 2014-20. Dosage 6g…rides the fence of Extra Brut-Brut. Disgorged 1/25.
I enjoy this producer’s style more & more and its relative value in Champagne. From 375ml.
Nice mousse with lively, crisp acidity. Green apple, lime pulp w/ zest, tropicals, kiwi, lemon drops, vanilla, frothy cream, caramel, butterscotch-toffee, white spice with palate penetrating heat, dry herbs, saline-sea fossils, volcanics, gritty chalk, dry limestone, brioche. Yellow lilies, white spring flowers, excellent balance-structure, good length and a finish of nearly two-minutes and long sets on volcanics & spice.

🎤 Hello…(tap, tap)…is thing still working?
I think we are back to one day from two in seeing posts. But, now 7 varietal/region tabs are completely blank unless I engage one or more of dollar signs symbols at the top of each tab every time I wish to go back & look at them. I think Neo must be in the machine city fighting Agent Smith and is close to shutting down this Matrix.
Finally got in some of my 375 Champagnes. Found some 375ml EB’s. Look forward to those. The VC last weekend was not something I normally do.
However, I do like Gimonnet’s craft. Enjoy the SC’s more, but this will do.
Nice, ripe, bruised green apple/pear, lemon/lime pulp with zest, grapefruit w/ pith, touch of tropical melons, kiwi and white stone fruits, ginger-ale quince, nougat, pronounced white spice, gritty chalk/limestone, yeasty bread dough, almond cake, yellow lilies, white flowers, lively, crisp acidity, well balanced, nicely tensioned, good length and elegant finish that lasts nearly 90 seconds and falls on spice & minerals on the long set.

Gimonnet is one of the true quality producers in Champagne with good QPR. You could make a case for rounding up here to 92 but I don’t think it is quite there, yet.
100% Chardonnay. 100% Cuis 1er Cru in the Côte des Blancs. The vintage blending:
6 vintages.
70% 2021.
30% 2014-2020.
Disgorgement 1/25
Dosage 6g
The palate shows nice mousse. Red & golden apple, pear, white peach, lemon but more lime pulp w/ some zest, pineapple hues, bread dough, ginger-ale, gentle white spice, melted caramel, slivered almond, graham crackers, cream, vanillin notes, crumbled limestone bits, grey volcanic minerals, saline, oyster shells, white spring flowers set in greens, gentle but lively acidity, well crafted-balanced, nicely toned with an elegant, smartly polished finish that lasts nearly two-minutes and lands on somewhat punchy minerals.
Excellent finishing up the other 1/2 wheel of the Jasper Hills Limited Edition Champagne Washed Harbison creamy, white cheese.

A true classic Blanc de Blancs, renowned for being well made, pale lemon, fine bubble flow and light mousse, aromas of fresh stone fruits, warm biscuits and hints of floral notes. On the palate fresh fruit flavors of white peaches and crisp apple with hints of citrus zest. Long finish ending with rich yeasty mineral character, a favorite.
