Stunning. Dauvissat perfection. 2012 Clos is perfect tonight, with more fruit definition than Preuses as expected from the site. It’s textural, chiseled and powerful with Chablisen oyster shell minerality layered in a tidal wave of spiced orchard fruit and white flowers. It’s incredibly silky on the palate showing killer volume and density with racy citrusy acids and a sea spray-like salinity to round it out. When Dauvissat is on it’s hard to beat. And this is still young.

Composed. Great clarity. Quite dry with slate, lime, rocky minerality. Quite long and very good.

Limestone, salinity, lime. Beautiful poise and depth but light and clear. Really good.

Pretty tight but clearly classy. There’s chalky minerality, a hint of lime, some rock pools on the nose all straining on the leash. The midpalate is brightly saline with hints of honey. This needs time but has great balance. Score based on potential.

Worth the risk of consuming shards of glass. I salvaged one big glass from the loss. You can imagine the look on the warehouse guys face when I handed him the glass. Then I said it was about $30+ worth of juice and he smiled... If I didn't have to run out the door I would have enjoyed it!
