This is a much fuller bodied willamette Pinot than I’m accustomed to, but I do like it. Darker reds, and intense aromas focusing on currant, dark cherry, some rose petals, and pepper. Has a syrupy consistency. Quite dry, strong tannins and medium acidity. Good finish. Chefs kiss! — a year ago

Fascinating #willamettevalley white from #apollonivineyards. I had the distinct pleasure of being served this wine from the winemaker/owner Alfredo Apolloni, who made the trip for a tasting event at a local Houston wine bar. Alfredo was humble and engaging. He walked me through this wine, choosing to age 25% in acacia wood barrels so there’s a really compelling white citrus blossom aroma mingling with grippy tannins, hints of vanilla but no malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and acidity. The acid bite is offset with forward fruit on this #pinotgris — 6 years ago

You were very fortunate to meet the vintner. All their wines are wonderful and the winery grounds are fun to visit! I recommend their rose’ as well as their Pinot noir if you want to try more of their wines.
