Wow, what a ride. Skin contact chard from Hungary with addition of barrel fermented Szürkebarát (pinot gris). The nose is very interesting and inviting with almost a botrytis scent to it, along with apricot, honey, tangerine peel, a bit of leather too. Wow this is not super clean but it's super complex. The palate shows some acid drive, some tannic structure as could be expected for a skin contact wine (24 days in clay amphoras for the chardonnay), apricot, honey touches, a bit of a round mid palate with those tannins before a rather long, slightly drying finish with that honey, apricot note that goes on for ever. This is definitely a style of wine which is not for everyone but it's one of the better structured orange wines I've had. Think radikon from Hungary (for a nicer price tag). 14% abv — a year ago
Classic example of wine tastes better when you are enjoying the view of the vineyard, the story being told by the winemaker. We purchased this wine in Italy and schlepped back home only to find the merlot to be mediocre a year later. This wine is supposed to the the pinnacle of Radikon empire (made by father of current winemaker Sasha). — 6 years ago
Deeply colored, fruity, very aromatic skin-contact orange wine made with Jakot/Tocai Friuliano from 60 years-old vineyards in Oslavia (Italy’s Collio region, right on the border with Slovenia) that Princic has been farming without pesticides since the 1980s. Alongside Oslavia neighbors Josko Gravner and Stanislao Radikon, Princic is recognized as one of the region’s natural and orange wine pioneers, known for the early adoption of bio-dynamic practices and use of extended skin macerations and lengthy aging – in this case, 22 days on skins and 2 years in botti. Rich, concentrated, with beautiful aromas of apricot, honey and peach gummy hearts. Some spice, herbal notes. Mineral, salty, great finish. — 6 years ago
Deep ruby opaque with lots of sediment, mature and well balanced, minerals and acidity with tart cherries, light bodied lovely! — 4 months ago
Pours maroon, feels purple velvet.
Unashamed acetone, like the best nail polish and wild jungle juice. Dark plums and raspberries with a sweet midnight pruney core.
Sweet and tart and pulpy and a good ride if you raised your hand and signed the waiver. — 2 years ago

exceptional skin macerated white. approaches the complexity and nuance of radikon and gravner at half the price. seriously. — 4 years ago

Utmärkt oranginovino gjord med kunskap hämtad från Radikon. Sasa Brasa Mandelmasa! #TNWC — 4 years ago
How could I resist a $22 bottle of “orange” wine being a devotee of Gravner, Radikon & Damijan... and this was a pretty good attempt. Same region near Slovenian border, this has that wild savage oxidative nose, nutty, dried orange rind, dehydrated peach & apricot. Mid weight on palate, maybe lacking some guts & polish - solid acidic structure & balance leading to drying finish. Contemplative wine - would def buy again! — 6 years ago
In the glass it looks like a flat wheat beer—light orange and cloudy. Citrus boozy nose. The first sip and you know it’s special. Unique experience, but quite different from orange Radikon. This is more wine, less cocktail. Lots of tension, medium body and tons of acidity. Easy to pair but interesting enough to be had on its own. — 6 years ago
RS18 is a sublime texture of crimson velvet sweatpants and also a rich concentrated core of saturated sweet stewed fruits. A total standout. Some won't tolerate. This is unapologetically raw and oozing with VA. But like it or not, this is an experience and I like experiences.
Deep aromas of spiced cranberry and apple cider turn to flavors of syrupy dates and grape jelly. Plays tricks on the mind. Is this really sweet? Or just perception? — 4 years ago
Balsamic tar and flower petals. Extremely tannic upon opening but evolved beautifully — 5 years ago
If Radikon is right, great orange wines come in 500 ml bottles. This gold-colored skin contact wine smells like sweet apples and tastes like it. Wild yeast. Some light, fading, carbonation. Tart and mild tannins. Reminds me a little of an unblended Belgian lambic. Utterly drinkable. — 6 years ago
Just.... like nothing else. Every time. I love this wine. — 6 years ago
This is one of my favorite styles of wine. Skin contact aromatic specifically muscat and not too heavy on the tannins like radikon or Georgian wines. I still think it masks the terroir but I love it either way... maybe the basic white carbonic equivalent for amateur natty wine connoisseurs like myself. 🤷♂️ super cloudy and some va. Both good things in my book. Thanks again chambers — 6 years ago

Really perfumed nose. Orange, honey, lemon, apples, herbs. Good acid. — 2 months ago
