Román Estate Grown North Coast Zinfandel Blend 2021

Dusty red fruits (plum, rhubarb) on the nose, medium-dark red, medium+ body, nice acidity out of the gate, mellowing into a nice balance of a little sweetness and a little sourness, more plum, some raspberry, bit of bramble on the finish. — 9 months ago

Senda de Hoyas Roble Campo de Borja Red Blend

For 3 euros a bottle, this is a beautiful wine. Not too light but definitely a daily drinkable wine with or without food. — 10 years ago

Cartago Toro Tinta de Toro Touriga Nacional 2012

Andrew Holod
9.5

Bodegas Maurodos Cartago 2012 D.O. Toro, paired with a serious veal chop, roasted piquillos, thick-cut chef-grown potato chips, and tomatoes at Chibo. Brand new wine for the winery coming from a single plot of old vines and named for a landmark curve of the Duero river. 90% Tinta de Toro and 10% Touriga Naçional, aged 3 years in 100% new French oak and 1 year in the bottle. Dense savory and more concentrated than San Román. Superb integration of oak, cranberry, wet stones, needs time. 2,000 bottles produced. #gos2016 — 10 years ago
