6/29/22 Chateau d’Ige - France — 4 years ago
Presented double-blind at Tasting Group. The wine pours a deep straw color with medium viscosity and no signs of particles or gas. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of pineapple, passion fruit, toasted marshmallows, almonds, and nutmeg. On the palate, the wine has medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and creamy. The oak is opulent and this tastes expensive.
Initial conclusions: this could be Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc from France or the United States. I didn’t get any pyrazines so I ruled out Bordeaux Blanc and the balance leaned slightly toward structure so had to take this to France. Final conclusion, this is Chardonnay from France, Burgundy, Beaune, Puligny Montrachet from 2019. Dang!!! Some Corton Charlie! This is what Napa Chardonnay often wants to be. Drink now through 2039. — 3 months ago

Beautiful aromas of pear and vanilla. Lightly rich and creamy in the mouth. Hints of acidity and crispness in the finish. Worth every penny. Very nice. — 9 months ago
Good semi dry bubbly. Loved the tiny bubbles, holds up well. Not too sweet — 3 years ago
Opened 2010 in fall 2021. Great tertiary aromas and flavors of mushroom, forest floor. Great balance. Wonderful. Lively. Not flat at all. Stone underneath. Light fruit in the background. — 5 years ago

Another incredible Burgh. This needs about 12 hours to open up under an argon atmosphere. Before that an 8.7 quite boring and flat . Very dark / super refined cherry notes - Kirsch Brandy aka Schladerer from Staufen/Baden. Port wine on the nose. For Chambolle - Musigny made in 2005 this had too much fruit but now ultra refined tannins - and i hate the word ultra smooth…. — 3 months ago
