2020 vintage. Palate is quite fascinating. Red fruits wild strawberry and dried raspberry have a definite black plum skin and violet pastis candy action going on. Dark in the herbal spectrum, like tarragon or Thai basil, but much more in the background than those assertive flavors usually reside. A little bubblegum, lilac, incense, graphite, mace, and tea round it all out. Medium-bodied, seems like maybe some partial carbonic going on. Whatever it is, a very fun and interesting manifestation of Cabernet Franc. — 5 years ago
Young and brash. A big dude with a soft heart. Give it some time. Find it in 2028. — 6 years ago
This has a full body and nose. Nose of tropical fruits, pineapple, Meyer lemon, maybe a bit of fresh peeled almond too. You can almost smell the acidity, which coats the palate (not in a brash way). There’s a creaminess that sits on the tongue. There’s a bit of honey as well. The acidity mellows with time in the glass. — 8 years ago
Wild stuff - big bold brash - you don’t expect that w/this varietal, but this had all kinds of body & texture. Austere nose til it warmed up then it was throwing aromas like lime peel, green tea, Granny Smith, kiwi - green things… plenty of acidity, mineral & resoundingly dry finish. Anomaly / interesting, not sure we loved it — 3 years ago
Juicy, enough tannin, great chilled — 6 years ago
Sweet raspberry, leather, baking spices. I like this bouquet.
Very fruit forward. Honestly, wait for it... watermelon. This is straight up jammy, picnic wine.
Unreserved, brash, jammy. Bae got this for me for my burrday. It’s not amazing, but it’s hella drinkable. Shh, don’t tel her I said that, though. — 6 years ago
New Year’s Eve courtesy the Higgins. Decanted a couple of hours, but still so young. Very promising! — 7 years ago

Serious wiggling in my nether regions. Deep, robust, yet carrying a freshness that I don’t often correlate with Aussie wines. I admit complete dismissal of their wine and this is the perfect smack in the face. Humility is a good thing sometimes. Deep hue, bursting with ripe and slightly baked black berry, plum fruit. Espresso, bitter cocoa, wood smoke, baked leather, cool herbs, spice, game, warmth earth. Savory and fruit perfectly mingle about, tannins are ripe, soft, yet giving enough foundation and posture to carry all that richness it has. Hides its alc very well. Great wine that is hitting all the right buttons with BBQ. Omensetter Vineyard. — 8 years ago
I’m between 92-93 here, but this definitely has upside. Followed over three days.
Very translucent ruby in the glass. Extremely floral on the nose alongside plenty of juicy red fruit (strawberries, raspberries) and savory herbal spices. If whole clusters were used, it was minimal, but this isn’t a brash new world Pinot with overpowering oak. It trends toward a faint kirsch and black tea finish. I always enjoy Lato’s SRH Pinots and this is a good one now and will be for a solid 5-7yrs. — 3 years ago

Big, but not brash. Untypical of pinot, but that’s what we enjoyed about this.
Ripe nose filled with smoke, charcoal and dense stone fruits. Extracted palate is almost flamboyant. Mid-palate displays sweet herbs and complex wood treatment. Finishes with cloves, and oddly, lavender. We love idiosyncratic juice like this. — 6 years ago

tangy and brash. Apple and wet cut grass. Zingy. A bit one note — 2 months ago
