@delectable this is not “cote du midi” and there is no viognier. — 5 years ago
Gamay / Pinot Noir Blend - Light, fruity, and fresh; with a nice salivating acidity. Aperitif wine, also on dishes usually dedicated to white wine (fish). Raised on volcanic soils, the tannins are fuller than usual on this type of blend.
— 6 years ago
Bretty but delicious anyway. Sometimes a bit of brett just doesn’t seem to matter if the fruit is strong enough — 7 years ago
Very smooth, well-balanced Rhône blend with medium tannin, dark cherry and tea notes, at dinner with friends and at Bistro du Midi, Back Bay, Boston — 7 years ago
So far all Bouju wines I tasted are powerful, overly young and not simple (in variety of meanings). This one is no exception. Ripe cherry, dark cherry, earthy hints, chocolate powder, white pepper, banana. All this leads me to Morgon or some neighbouring appellation, but nope! Tannic, astringent palate with highly volatile finish backed by black cherry. Definitely interesting and sophisticated wine. But so damn young! Decant unless you want to be washed away by a wave of hair spray! Then it becomes beautiful, by gaining medicinal herbs notes in the nose and cherry-vanilla-VA-chocolate flavours. Giving extra 1 for no apparent reason.

I’ve been waiting for this Syrah impatiently, since it got bottled in March! I was very enthusiastic on the ‘18 vintage of this relatively new domain, and surely the quality keeps going up. not disappointed by the ‘19, just the opposite!
This is crunchy, elegant, on the fruit, light, aerial.
Light spice and berries like currant and blackcurrant.
Tight enough thanks to a nice acidity backbone and slight salinity.
We’re very close to North-Rhône but this is definitely more alpine and fresh. — 6 years ago
Ok. It'd be better if I were in Le midi.. — 6 years ago
Gamay and Pinot Noir associated for a very successful wine with unexpected length and complexity for the price. it is really a very beautiful success. characteristic taste: wine rather mineral with structure and a slight smoky taste that does not hide the characteristics of the fruit and soil. Breeding and assembly are certainly for something, it is a very nice discovery! a specific wine from France in nuances as I like to taste them. — 7 years ago

Sparkling gamay? RS too sweet for me. — 6 years ago
Сочная клюква, брусника, сладость малины, кислотность малины и белой смородины. Очень собранное. Почти гениально. Пил бы и пил. — 7 years ago

On the nose: berries and bruised apple. Cinnamon. Bitter chocolate, ripe cherry. Mouthfeel: remarkable balance. Medium body (I’d even go medium-) with great structure. Hit with raspberry but rest of the fruit follows. Tannin level is perfect to round off a great sip. Good on its own or paired with red meats and light sauces. Also great with chocolate desserts. Great vintage. Wow! — 2 years ago
