Such a treat! Crisp and mineral tones with light pear and apple hints! A completely new white grape for me, delightful! — 10 years ago
Drinking this awesome Falanghina at Taverna del Capitano in Marina del Cantone. It doesn't get any better than that!!!! — 11 years ago

Agree with @Chris MacLean : peppery. I’ve not had many wines like this, and loved the expansion of my experience. — 4 years ago
The best white wine at the James Suckling Great Wines of Italy event. Crisp. Clean. Floral. Nice acidity & minerality. Perfection — 8 years ago
Lots of tannin, barnyard nose, cherries... fruit notes off top, then bracingly dry on the finish. Have your rib eye ready. — 8 years ago
Perfect balance of peppery burnished red berry with hint of plum and tangerine. Prosciutto. No longer. Love this little guy. — 9 years ago

Indigenous variety from Campania (Campi Flegri, Vesuvio, Napoli area and the Sorrento peninsula). Traditionally blended with Aglianico to tame that grape, it’s produced as a varietal too. Soft overall mouthfeel with bright and integrated acidity; cherry, blackberry, floral notes (Violet? Lilac?) and an underlying herbal quality. M- body, M length, great QPR at 13€.

Pairing: baby greens, fresh figs, gorgonzola, almonds and pumpkin seeds, balsamic vinaigrette, focaccia on a warm summer evening 👍🏻 — 8 years ago
Light well balanced body. Red fruit. Lovely. — 9 years ago
From just north of Naples, Piedirosso is the quintessential Neoploitan wine/grape. Ruby red in color, with a medium-light body that is a refreshing choice for a red wine in the warmer months of the year. It reminds of a Beaujolais Cru with more acidity and more tannin. 12% abv also keeps things fresh, crisp and even better with a chill. Make sure you open 1 hour+ if a younger vintage.
Piedirosso gets its name during maturation, the stem turns a red color which is similar to a pigeon’s leg. — 10 years ago
