Clean, authentic Loire character, excellent density and proportion, controlled vivacity, forward but has a good reserve, transparent without exposing too much. — 7 years ago
Amazing. Golden color, stinky nose, delightful mouth feel, honey/syrup flavor that lasts forever. Paired with a remarkable grapefruit and ice cream dessert from Le Cinq that was custom made for this kind of wine. — 7 years ago
Elegant, balanced with a touch of heat. Fantastic. — 8 years ago
Hands down best pear cider out there. Works so well as a desert pairing. Poured at Le Cinq — 9 years ago
Tastes like Apple juice, in a very yum way. — 5 years ago
Think I have the right one...high expectations here for some reason but very mediocre. Oaky with a metallic finish. Mellowed a bit after awhile but still. 14.4% no surprise. No cinq cepages here — 6 years ago
Not my kind of pinot, but I must admit I quite enjoyed this. Kinda like Denis Mortet Mes Cinq Terriors. Dark fruited and mineral inflected. The Rossignol Trapet 13' village stretches quite a bit of power, but is well-balanced by the saline backbone and just the right amount of acidity. Blackcurrant, dried florals, earthy, mocha, some spice. Quite supple, silky tannins. I would say - excellent value! — 7 years ago

With a little air and unwinding, this blend really worked - and that is in large part due to the balanced profile of 2014. Jim dolphin really leveraged the acidity from cool and dry Aug/Sept evenings. Wish I had more ;) Profile is southern France - a touch of Rhône. — 8 years ago
Outstanding! Never would have expected this as the pairing for the deconstructed French onion soup dish in the third course at Le Cinq — 9 years ago
A balance of fruit and non-fruit aromas... black cherries, subtle nutmeg, slate.
Light but rich on the palate with the same fruit and spice flavors as aromas, some soft but present acidity hits the tip of the tongue, and soft but present tannins linger. Complex and delicious. — 2 years ago
Fortunate enough to taste this lovely wine 11 years after its vintage and it was singing. #napa #pnv Only 5 cases produced. “This wine showcases our 200 acres of estate vineyards by using a blend of the five classic Bordeaux grapes from five landmark Napa Valley appellations. Deeply fruited and elegantly structured, this wine combines nuance and power for a classic bottling. Our Premiere Napa Valley bottling showcases rich texture and deep complexity. Aromas of ripe blackberry, Bing cherry, clove and star anise leap from the glass and balance a dense palate of black plum, cassis and toasty cocoa with a smooth finish framed by dusty tannins.

Number One wine of a five wine blind tasting with 5 different grape varieties.
What a beautiful wine. The nose is complex, elegant with violets, white pepper and some animal and slightly meaty scent. The wine is gorgeous, powerful, complex, dark fruit that is lush and velvety silky tannins on a tremendous finish. 93-94
93-94 — 6 years ago
