Catalan wine tasting #4
So juicy & fresh, with red fruit brilliance. Very piedmontese in character with a slightly fruitier edge.
Strawberries, raspberries, with a proper tannic, juicy grip. Fresh acidity.
Truly lovely. A v. pleasant discovery! — 3 years ago
Intriguing. Soft and silky after some air. A bit grapey. Kind of reads like inexpensive Pinot. Easy to see why it’s mainly used for sparkling. — 6 years ago

What a great find! And the price pint is perfect. I can’t believe there was a bottle with over ten years of age hidden at my local coop. The fruit and acidity have mellowed beautifully giving way to the subtleties of earth and mushrooms, gentle tannins—and lots of sediment! — 8 years ago
Vintage 2006 | Carlos Esteva is passionate for Pomerol. He plants merlot in the Spanish Penedes region in 1981. Special wine that is aged in barrels for 12 months and rests in bottle for 16 years before release. Multi layered smell with milkchocolate, tobacco, licorice and clove. A very pronounced character with super long aftertaste. Potential, says my notes. — a year ago

Not a big bubbly fan, but this was a nice start to the evening. Nose had some Irish whiskey notes, strange as that seems. Fruity, dry, crisp. — 7 months ago
