Drank 10/22/18
A very interseting wine, made from 100 % pinot buerot, a Burgundian Pinot Grigio clone. I first had this on a trip to Burgundy back in 2012, and have only seen it sold in a couple of places stateside. One of my Wife's favorites. Excellent pairing with Carbonara. Cork is some sort of a synthetic material I have not seen elsewhere (pictured). I've never had a Pinot Grigio with this much age, (or one this good) but this wears it nicely. Golden color resembles an aged chardonnay. From what I understand, this vineyard was grandfathered in, making it one of the only ones in Burgundy to grow a white varietal other than chardonnay or aligote.
Nose of lemon, some green apple, baking spices, and some crushed rock. Creamy mouthfeel, with apple pie, lemon curd, and some nutmeg. Could easily confuse with a chardonnay aged in neutral oak, if not for the high acidity .

2021 vintage. A little monopole Grand Cru action. Decently compelling but better out there for the $150 resto price currently. Wouldn't mind tasting the previous or next vintage tho...01.16.26. — 18 days ago
