2020 | Pinot Noir
Isabelle et Denis Pommier; 'Grain de Survie'
Burgundy; Chablis, France
Such a ridiculous Pinot Noir, the fruit is giving 110%, crazy value for ~$20!

The 2016 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru has a gorgeous bouquet with green apple, flint, honeysuckle and light jasmine aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity, discrete use of wood here (30% barrel ageing for 18 months) with a beautifully poised, effervescent, orange zest-tinged finish that lingers. Fantastic considering the challenges of the growing season. Tasted blind at the BIVB Chablis tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2018) — 7 years ago
Terrific rich and deep nose of savory minerals and an elite airiness. Also a hint if that classic Pommier richness. Pure and fresh. Palate is deep, rich, savory and incisive. Mouth-filling and deep. Awesome structure and finesse. So well made. Flavors of lemon, lemon pith and some savory elements. Has years to go. Truly great. — 5 years ago
