Crisp with mineral tones - awesome with burgers. Perfect bubbles. Jess wants a 6 pack from BP. — 3 years ago
A solid Beaujolais-Village, bearing the stigma of the beautiful Beaujolais wines. Tiled ruby color, of a certain concentration. Superb open nose, between candied red fruits (cherry, strawberry), dried floral bouquet (Pink, peony, iris), white pepper, and notes of aerial evolution tending towards truffle, medley, nail polish. Close to a Burgundy in more airy and more floral. Fine and final body on vivacity. Beautiful nobility, superb for its price. Drink a little refreshed.
— 4 years ago

Grand Cru.
Chateau Lascombes has been producing fine wine on the same location for about 300 years or so. In the 1855 Classification it was ranked as one of the 15 “Second Growths” of Bordeaux, which meant it was one of the 20 best vineyards in France and therefore - at least according to the French - the world. It’s had its ups and downs over the years but has been a top performer in most rankings for the last 30 years or so. At one point in the 1970’s I believe it was owned by one of the worlds best known wine critics, Alexis Lichine (with financial backing from David Rockefeller). I think it was bought from them in the late 1990’s or so.
Known for its smooth flavors and never overly tannic, I would bet it tasted great!
Parker gave this one a “94” when he tasted it and said to drink it between 2014 and 2020. In Honor of Nick! — 8 years ago

Domaine De La Bongran Vire-Clesse Cuvee E.J. Thevenet has been my favorite go to WB, but at half the price this Cuvee Symphonie is now a buy a case at a time purchase.

If they were the same price then I’d take the Bongran, but at 2 for 1 I’ll take this. Very similar, just a little lighter bodiedBlack cherry and curant, just enough bite in the back. — 5 years ago
What a surprise! Cork crumbled despite climate controlled cellar. Heady scents of raspberry and cocoa. The wine was showing very well for 20 years old. Fresh, vibrant raspberry, dark chocolate, and a bit of spice. Only had a small glass, but would live to see what this is like after being open for 12 hours. #swansonvineyard — 6 years ago

Rich mouthfeel and I would say atypical for a sauvignon blanc. As such, it definitely fits in my wheelhouse. — 2 years ago

Ruby in color with a wide brick rim.
Beautiful nose of black currants, blackberries, blueberries, dried figs, raisins, light oak, licorice, light tobacco, light earth, chocolates, eucalyptus, light vegetables, herbs, wildflowers, cola and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, figs, dried fruits, coffee, light cedar, tobacco, chocolates, cola, vanilla, licorice, spices, light earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This gorgeous 18 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now.
This is a great surprise, as the cork totally crumbled, and I expected the worst, but it really delivered.
Shows nice balance, and great complexity with a velvety mouthfeel.
Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle. As it opens up, tannins come in (45 minutes), and make it more structured and interesting.
A great sipping wine to have all by itself and talk about. The nose is just gorgeous.
14.8% alcohol by volume.
95 points.

Alexis loves this wine. What grown-ups drink instead of white Zinfandel. Super sweet & fruity, with slightest bit of bubble. Alexis: 9.6...Me: 6.0. — 7 years ago
Excellent chardonnay, unoaked and so delicious with so many dishes. Definitely try this one out! — 8 years ago
