A wonderful Mount Veeder Cab that has aged elegantly.
The nose shows blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum laced with savory notes of cedar, tobacco and dried herbs. The palate is concentrated yet vibrant with silky tannins has firm grip, finishing long with hints of cocoa and espresso.
Restrained power and finesse, Yannick brought both Veeder’s rugged characters and French precision. Last bottle. — 9 months ago
Great nose on opening. Jammy fruit. Moderate tannins. Would buy another Really enjoyed this Grenache blend. — 4 years ago
Rich and full-bodied, not sour, not tannic. — 6 years ago

Love this producer. Not my favorite of his wines but that’s just personal taste. 12.5%. Still delicious. Very barnyardy — 7 years ago
The 2020 Beaune Clos du Roi 1er Cru has some reduction on the nose, tightness, and broody at first, though it opens after ten minutes of aeration. I like the fruit profile here, which is wild strawberry and cranberry polished by oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, ripe red fruit, again, very polished by the new oak, detracting from the typicité. But it is a Beaune predesigned to seduce, and you cannot deny its cashmere finish and fresh figgy aftertaste. Charming. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2024)

Extraordinary Pinot with rich ripe red currant and nicely structured tannins. — 7 years ago
It’s fun drinking Grand Crus, but it’s tough when they’re opened alongside “lesser” red burgundies that are drinking better (at this moment in time). Like many Grand Crus, this comes off as one dimensional but clearly singing its own beautiful song. — 7 years ago
Excellent for a village wine or this age - could drink this all year! Black cherries, pepper, very Gevrey. Great acidity. Not super-complex but exactly what you want from this bottle! — 8 years ago
Double decanted. Light ruby color with a pronounced brick colored rim. Aromas of soy sauce balsamic vinegar, leather , forest floor and dried red cherry fruit. Flavors of mushrooms, tobacco, dried cherries and mint. Mineral note on the medium finish. Very little tannin but acidity is still plentiful. Slightly reductive, but well structured and balanced. Just kept evolving in the glass. Past its prime but quite interesting. Thanks for sharing, Kase! — 6 months ago
Stone, lime and honey. Sunshine. Nice round smooth balance. Repeat. — 2 years ago
A French burgundy that tastes like a California Pinot (sorry). Cherry, but tannic. — 2 years ago

Spice, mineral, red fruits, early-season raspberry, and compote. Really aromatic and so pretty. Elegant, architectural, generous, with fine tannins and a long, wispy, dissipating finish. Elegant fruit and real length. — 6 days ago
