Violet, blackberry, licorice, and cedar. Lighter than I expected given how dark it is. — 6 months ago
Single vineyard "Les Belles Voyes" in the famous Grand Cru hillside of Oger. Pale lemon with fine creamy mousse and tiny rapid bubble flow, long lees aging. aromas stone fruits and blossom, bread dough and citrus. On the palate flavors of golden apple, peach, lemon citrus and honeysuckle with biscuit toast and nutty notes. Long finish, full-body ending with biscuit, mineral and citrus character. Outstanding! — 5 years ago

Textbook. Excellent value. — 7 years ago
Wow, so much character and personality in this single vineyard. If I recall correctly there is some oak aging on this. So much depth and flavor: mineral of course but some handsome age quality and balance of sweetness and acidity. Very special. — 7 years ago
Love FBalthazar’s Chaillot Cornas but never had his SS offering. I’d rather catch most SS wines in their youth to not roll the dice and get them super fresh.
Splash decanted; followed over two days.
Deep purple in the glass with hallmark Cornas aromatics…smoked meat, charcoal, dark potpourri/florals, cassis, blackberries. On the palate, the typical Cornas rusticity is more elegant, with peppered black fruits, sweet smoke, mocha, savory spices. It undoubtedly has a very “pure” profile, showing Syrah without any sort of mask. Good acid and tannin. Day two showed the mid-palate lose steam a bit, which isn’t a big surprise. Lovely bottle. If I could guarantee its evolution, this seemed like it would cruise another 7-10yrs, but who knows with SS! — a month ago

Minerally, lemon clawback from a tease of tropics/gooseberry. New oak gives it a little more seriousness, but not a malo/creamy mess — it’s crisp. Good “house” Sancerre — 6 years ago
Not bad full bodied rose, had with Black Forest ham. — 7 years ago
Allt är sig likt, förutom etiketten. — 7 years ago

Stones and rocks on the nose to accompany ripe apple, pastry cream.
Rich, full and elegant. More open on tasting than nose suggested. A different giving creature on day 2. — 6 months ago
Toasty biscuit, tart apricot, lime zest in the bouquet. Stone fruit, cave minerals, lemon curd, hints of golden apple on the palate. Zesty bubbly that’s well balanced... Happy New Year!! — 6 years ago
This is fun! Dried Grenache from California makes a lighter, more food friendly wine than it’s dried grape counterparts. Nice acidity, medium concentration, beautiful petal flavors. — 7 years ago

Strong garrigue (sage and lavender dominate the herbal components), black pepper, and mineral aromas. Tinges of green tobacco, pink peppercorns, and dried chilies. Definitely one of the best GSMs I've had. — 6 days ago
