A very nice, very Burgundian Chardonnay from cool Hemmel en Aarde.
Cool & enticing, with ripe lemon & lime, shortbread, white flowers, a touch of nutmeg, a hint of anise.
On the palate this is poised & very elegant. Good breadth (40% new barrels) but also great depth & focus. Layers of ripe yellow fruit & juicy, vibrant acidity plus a nice salty touch on the long finish.
Very close to Cote Challonais in style, a truly lovely wine. — 10 months ago

Fresh nose, raspberries, damson plum, touch of spice, hint of bark. Enticing.
Round and quite soft on the palate, but not plush. Juicy acidity adds a cool freshness, there’s nice balance and good purity to the fruit. The wood perfectly integrated.
Def on the fruitier side and I expected a bit more depth and edge, which their whites have.
Pleasant sipping. — 23 days ago
