Actually a blend of Cab Sauv, Castelão, Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet. This wine is a very dark purple, almost inky. The nose is also dark, showing blackberry notes alongside savory tobacco, spice and earth, all in a very smokey framework. The palate of this interesting blend is nearly stunning. Tannins have a good grip, but the blue fruit flavors are amazing and the acidity leaves the sipper salivating. It seems bizarre to me that this wine cost less than $10. It drinks like it should cost much more.

Not as full-bodied as other Touriga blends - a good AP red. — 3 years ago

A new white varietal (Encruzado) for me. Bright golden color. Aromas and flavors of unripe peach, green melon, apricot and lemon zest. Nice touch of minerality on the long, intense and luxurious finish. Quite fresh, with mouth watering acidity and a bold mouthfeel. Pleasant surprise. Thanks for sharing, Ron B! — 2 years ago
Douro blend, bright and crisp acidity when first open. Some red fruit and pepper notes. Mellow tannins. Full body showing up late with more air. Low alc at 13.5%. Nice. — 10 months ago

Extremely balanced black fruits, licorice, vanilla and tons of milk chocolate. Rounded tannins. Just a really nice drop. Best dry red on the Portuguese trip. — 2 years ago

Funky nose of lemon, allspice and sulfur. Light-medium bodied. Beguiling on the palate. Lemon curd, green apple and slightly oxidized in a good way. — 2 months ago
