Sour aroma. Enough body. Strawberry, plum and raspberry. Cranberry. Acidic. Geantet-Pansiot Les Bons Batons Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019 @1840, tatong, 230318 — 3 years ago

Sensational for a Pinot Fin. Kept really well. Tint of sour cherries and wet forest flavours. — 9 years ago
More the classic Burgundian nose not as bold as Pansiot or the Dugat just a gorgeous earthy perfume. Stewed Rhubarb notes. Loved the balanced intensity- simply brilliant from what many consider is a B List Grand Cru but in the hands of Leroy it becomes something magical (and expensive). One taster in our group gave this 99. The guys from Prince reckon Leroy across the board is now dearer than DRC. — 9 years ago

My continuing quest to taste as many 22’s as possible.
This leans into 93.
The nose shows, ruby, slightly candied mid to dark fruits. Dark cherries, cooked strawberries, blackberries, black raspberries and raspberry hues on the glass edges. Flowers that are soft, dark, red flowers with violets.
The palate reveals ripe to just a touch syrupy; dark cherries, blackberries, cooked strawberries and black raspberries. Clove, nutmeg, soft cinnamon & vanillin with deep, dark spice, melted caramel, barrel shavings, dry tobacco w/ some ash, lightly grilled meats, limestone marls, dry herbs, dry stone & topsoil, light forest floor w/ dry leaves, brilliant dark red flowers famed in liquid violets, rainfall acidity with a balanced, well made, nicely tensioned, elegant finish that last ninety seconds falling into dry stone and spice.
This will require about 7 years in the cellar and last 20 years properly stored.
At $159, priced fairly in today’s Burgundy market, which has soared. — 2 years ago
Tart cherries, hint of vanilla and spice on the nose. The acidity is superb. Ends in a medium+ finish.

Great Pinot Noir from France — 9 years ago
Dark Crimson but not as dark as the Pansiot Charmes - wine #4 in this bracket. Very powerful and rich once again with palate staining intensity finishing with cherry skins and formidable tannins. Built for the long haul. Should not be approached for another 15 years. — 9 years ago
Savagnin-chardonnay blend. Medium weight and finish, medium-high acidity, beeswax, crayons, washed wool, white flowers — 2 years ago
Pale-medium ruby color.
Aromas of strawberry, red cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, spice.
Dry. Flavors of cranberry, raspberry, strawberry, spice, nutmeg. Light, silky tannins.
Intensity: 4/5
Complexity: 2/5

Strawberry rich aroma in initial. Fresh. Soft tanning. Enough acidity. Salty minerally, raspberry. 30 minutes, I found forest like flavor. Good choice for Japanese food. 2014 @3600, tatong - no, 201002 — 6 years ago
#burgundytasting Good acidity and structure. Tannins will take time to soften - revisit in a minimum of five years... — 8 years ago
Deep cherries and forest floor med + acidity — 8 years ago
Spice box, decaying leaves and a hint of smoke mingle with red cherry, red raspberry and cranberry fruit on the complex nose. The palate showcases the candied yet fresh nature of the fruit in excellent wines from 2002. The acidity is vibrant and the tannins round soft and textured. Just dynamite. — 10 years ago

From half bottle . Medium light garnet . This is quite closed at first , cool sous bois , touch of dry spice and some dried cherry, a bit difficult to read. Touch smoke , black tea , grafite and earthy notes after a while . On the palate this is better with fresh dark cherry , raspberry , blackberry , touch of liquorice and some earthy , grafite notes . Quite serious with quite grippy tannins still , touch of bitterness but balanced fresh acidity . Quite good sweetness on the mid palate and decent length , earthy finish . Gains in intensity and complexity with time in the glass . Still pretty young and tannic , like a lot of 2005s . Needs a bit of time to open, but should last well a further 5-8 years maybe longer , though this may never completely integrate those tannins. — 7 months ago
