Mid crimson in colour. Dusty notes of dried cherries, balsamic notes. Well made with good balance from a very reputable producer. Medium plus bodied - fuller than the average Rosso. Ripe fruit from the excellent 2019 vintage finishing with fine powdery tannins. Overall excellent. I will enjoy the Brunello from Salvioni in many years to come. Expensive for a Rosso at $170AUD. — 8 months ago

Still youthfully dark in color with a very slight browning on rim. Upon opening still very tight and shy on nose. Decided to decant this for 3.5h prior our Christmas dinner and it started to open around 3h mark. Then it was a great Barbaresco from Treiso offering slightly darker side of Nebbiolo expression with ripe cherry, some leather and smoke, fine pepper notes. Healthy acidity and fine tannins offers solid back bone for further aging and development. I take this is 2-3 years from peak and should continue to drink several years after that. Glad I have 2 more bottles. This was a fabulous qpr back then at 23€/bottle — 6 years ago
Barolo al Bar Piave a Roma con il mio amico Giulio!! — 4 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour alongside the 2009 vintage. The 2005 “Giulio Ferrari” pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is vinous with lovely notes of graham cracker, bruised apple, and spiced peach. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and richer than the 2009. Drink now. — 6 months ago
@Delectable Wine this is the Blanc de Noir*
One of Piedmont’s newest DOCs — for Metodo Classico wines from traditional French varieties. Why should Franciacorta & Trentodoc have all the fun? Great opener to one of best lunches / meals we had in Italy. — 3 years ago

Bevuto nel 2021 — 5 years ago
Medium+ garnet, with a tinge of orange-brown color around the rim. Raspberry and cherry nose, along with that pencil shavings smell. Second hour of air, secondary scents unfolded with some mint, spices and lightly roasted coffee beans. Feels quite Burgundian. Silky tannins. Not much gripping. Mid weight on the palate. Nice acidity; not overly tart. Surprisingly long. The taste lingered for quite a while. 91-92. — 7 years ago
Good for Negroni — 3 months ago
This was cherries in a bottle. Tart, bright red and black cherries. Slight earthy component. Was slightly overpowered by some of the cheeses on the board but was a good pairing. Put a slight chill on it to 65 degrees. — 4 months ago
I’m very impressed with this!! For £5.49, from Lidl, it’s smooth, lightly floral, hint of bitter citrus, light lick of minerality, it’s super easy drinking, but not inelegant. — 7 months ago
20251118 Enoclub Alba with Wakano
Lovely Barbaresco, a bit light in color but nice in taste.
Not too heavy but brings a nice flavor of full body.
Not so tart and harsh as the one 2 days agon from Verduno.
The owners of the Vineyard Ca del Baio are 3 sisters, one went to school with Alessandro from Casa Ressia.
Excellent price for this wine.

Named after Giulio Ferrari, who made the first Italian traditional method sparkling wine in 1902. Entirely made from Chardonnay and aged on the lees for a minimum of 15 months, the Ferrari NV Brut unfolds precise aromas of white peach, lemon peel, ripe apple and brioche, wrapped in a distinctive smokiness. The crisp acidity provides a firm backbone, giving this medium-bodied Trentodoc a lifting freshness. Drink now. — 3 years ago

Soft, mature and solemn, this wine has reached its drinking plateau. Lovely Tajine-like nuances of currants, lambchops, pinenuts, bellpepper, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and mint. — 13 days ago
