Golden color tinged with pink. Honeydew, rose petal, strawberries, and a hint of tangerine. Very refreshing. Another great wine from Sharon Harris and the team at Rarecat, — 4 years ago
A rich but now well balanced Zin in that ripe style that I’d likely not have been too fond of when it was younger. Bottle coated with sediment and oak is prominent in how it’s resolved with plummy berry vanilla notes. Back label says a field blend of Zin Carignane and Petit Sirah, Alexander Valley vineyard, vines cultivated on St. George rootstock grafted onto a 75 year old clone of Zin. — 5 years ago
At 8.99 a bottle this is an excellent blend and the addition of Tannat to the blend gives it a little something that is wonderful. — 7 years ago
This was Coravin-ed once, an undetermined amount of time ago. Decanted a few hours before drinking. Delightful. — 8 years ago
Yup...that's Neil Patrick Harris on their Label. Sleight of Hand Cellars got involved in a charity that NPH was apart. They got to talking and found he not only had a love of Magic, but wine as well. The relationship evolved well enough, they asked him if he would be on one of their labels and Neil agreed. The "Sleight of Hand Cellars" label has been seen a few times on "How I Met Your Mother." NPH is also is a club member. The Conjurer is blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot and a splash of Petit Verdot from the Columbia Valley. Nice, fresh nose of; ripe dark currants, blackberries, black plum, dark cherries, black raspberries, black licorice, dark chocolate, soft spice, wood shavings and fresh dark florals. The palate is M+ body & soft M+ tannins with a thick, round mouthfeel. Dark spice, eucalyptus, mint, herb notes, cinnamon, vanilla, clove, chocolate, caramel apple, black licorice, crushed rocks, soft leather, nice, round, acidity and a very well polish finish. This is very easy to drink young and will cellar 10 years. — 9 years ago
Lovely spicy notes, big ol Sweet Mother alcohol bite. Of course the dried black fruits (raisin, prunes/figs, blackberries, etc.) are there in abundance. Big sugar presence, naturally. Cause it's porto. But a nice vaguely cinnamon-y note, too. For tiny dollars at Trader Joe's, a super bargain. — 9 years ago
I'm not sure what happened to the yellow label with the little dancing guy on it. This is a pleasing sipper, with bright, tart fruit and plenty of acid. One dimensional, but a crowd pleaser and good with pork tenderloin and roasted spaghetti squash.

An 18th century chateau, overlooking the Isle valley, facing Pomerol and the Saint-Emilion limestone hillsides, belonged to the same family for three centuries took over by Michel Rullier in 1955, and his daughter Brigitte took the helm in 2002. Dark Ruby with an array of berry aromas and smoky scents. On the palate plum and cherry flavors with cacao, tobacco and smoky cedar notes with herb spice. Firm chalky tannins, long finish ending with earthy mineral notes. Still tasting ok, but drink now! — 6 years ago
Smoky Peaty and spirity aromas Also Iodine and Briny notes showing its maritime location. A single malt matured in charred oak casks. There is some conjecture as to whether Talisker is classified as Island or Islay but suffice to say it is the only Distillery on the Isle of Skye. Had a tour of Talisker many years ago after going to the HQ of the MacDonald Clan on Skye. I bought this 1 Litre bottle at Gatwick Airport about 2 months ago before we headed up to Inverness and the Highlands. — 7 years ago

Drank to celebrate the calling of the election for Biden-Harris ticket and the FACT that Georgia was blue again! — 6 years ago
Dark, deep purple color. Lovely aroma of roses, ripe red/black plums and wood-stove. Flavors are elegant and meaty. Some savory, chewy parts and plenty of bing cherry. Also has an inky streak. This is a great cooler climate Zin. Drinks a bit like Merlot, but has a hazelnut or chestnut thing that sings pure Zin. — 6 years ago
Tranditonally un-chill filtered made whiskey . Sweet smokiness on nose with a long finish — 9 years ago
Got this and a few other Harris Vineyard bottles through an auction at an event. Had never heard of this producer but it's pretty darn good. Cork was perfect for a 2010 and even looked brand new. Big rich Cabernet. Layered with a long finish. Even better with this air. Three hours in and it's singing — 9 years ago
