First introduction to the power of J.L. Chave. Dried blueberries and cherries fill the nose followed by a rush of pepper and freshly dried herbs, particularly thyme and rosemary. Dried cranberries and red currants lead the charge on the palate with smoked meat and the earthiness that I love from Rhône style wines right behind. Terrific mouthfeel with the right amount of tannins and acidity, and a long fruit forward finish. Chave’s Hermitage is a top dream wine for me, and this just adds fuel to the fire. — 8 years ago

Oily and beautiful. Not brimming with acidity that will shoot to the stars, but it's softer palate feel is welcomed and very pleasant to sip on. — 9 years ago

Really light, fruity. More like a pet nat in level of effervescence. Perfect for a summer girls night! — a year ago

Had a bottle of this wonderful wine in Malta on Aug 4, 2018. It is just so refreshing with a stake of veal, medium-rear done and some fresh veggies. Just great! — 8 years ago
Mid lemon. Floral aspects to the nose with lime lemon mineral and nuance of dairy. Probably a little bit of butter or cream from the oak. Excellent current drinking with a short term future. Always liked Macon - great QPR. Poor mans White Burgundy. Drank the last glass a day later and the wine had developed lovely honeyed nuances. Macon will become a regular buy for me. — 10 years ago

Good yummy wine. Good alcohol content. Peach nodes and sweet but tasty. Might be better than green wine. Pairs with undercooked peas 🪐 — a year ago

Deep Ruby with a Smoky floral nose that shows more syrah than Grenache at this point. Nice violet and forest floor notes. A bit tight at first but broadens on the palate with sit and the. Firm moderate tannins - a lovely beefy wine. — 8 years ago

2024 enjoyed 5/2026. tasted in lineup of Rhône Blanc, mostly rich and oily. this would have shown better if we started with this. I really like, I prefer the more mineral style -which is this. subtle white flowers, honeydew, under ripe peach. lemon curd showing after opening. — 24 days ago
